Join us on August 12, 2026, for a once-in-a-lifetime journey to witness the total solar eclipse. Travel in a comfortable mini bus with a small group of fellow enthusiasts as we set out to find the perfect viewing spot. With large windows for sightseeing, you’ll enjoy dramatic Icelandic landscapes on the way. Our expert guides will monitor the weather and clouds to ensure the best experience, leading you to a secluded location for this extraordinary celestial event.
We offer multiple pick up locations with less than a 10min walk from most accommodations.
Find out where they are.
Your adventure begins with pick-up in Reykjavík. Once everyone is on board, we head out toward Iceland’s scenic countryside. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the views through wide windows as we drive past volcanoes, lava fields, and rugged coastlines.
Our guides will track weather and cloud conditions throughout the journey, keeping the plan flexible to ensure the best possible viewing location. While driving, there will be opportunities to take in Iceland’s stunning natural scenery, making the journey itself a highlight of the day.
Once we reach the chosen spot, you’ll have time to set up your camera, enjoy some snacks, and prepare for the highlight of the day. As the partial phase begins, excitement builds until the sky suddenly transforms during totality. For a brief, unforgettable moment, darkness falls and the sun’s corona reveals itself—an awe-inspiring sight you’ll never forget.
• Partial Eclipse begins: 16:44
• Totality begins: 17:45
• Maximum Eclipse: 17:46
• Totality ends: 17:47
• Partial Eclipse ends: 18:46
As the moon fully covers the sun, the sky will fall into an eerie twilight. Darkness, silence, and awe will take over before cheers and camera clicks break the spell. It’s a short but unforgettable few minutes that will stay with you forever.
Following totality, we’ll take a moment to reflect, share stories, and enjoy the scenery before boarding the mini bus for our journey back. You’ll return to Reykjavík in the late evening, filled with memories of one of nature’s rarest spectacles.

In Iceland, there is no guarantee of the same kind of weather will be the whole day, even though there is beautiful morning during the pick-up in Reykjavík. Keep in mind that the weather can change very suddenly and you might just experience all four seasons in one day. So be well-prepared and bring plenty of layers.
Iceland is known for colourful weather and even in our short hike we could experience all 4 seasons.
It is a bit of a challenge to dress up for this sort of weather. We always recommend dressing in layers. 3 upper layers are highly recommended such as a light t-shirt (preferably wool) next to the skin, then a fleece or heavy wool garment, topped off with a waterproof windbreaker.
Lightweight hiking pants, track pants or long cotton pants are best and then wind/waterproof pants over. Jeans are not recommended for hiking as they become very heavy, cold and uncomfortable to wear when they get wet.
Sturdy hiking boots are highly recommended although good sneakers are good enough for this rather comfortable and short hike.
Travel insurance is always a good idea. We recommend that you have personal health insurance coverage when participating in any adventure activities in Iceland, as you would when travelling anywhere in the world.
