The Amazing Northern Lights

Join us on an unforgettable adventure from Reykjavik to witness the mesmerizing Northern Lights! Leave the city’s glow behind and journey into the deep darkness of the Icelandic countryside, where even locals stand in awe of this spectacular natural phenomenon.

The Northern Lights often dance across the winter sky, creating a stunning display that is best viewed far from the city’s light pollution. Our expert guide will find the perfect hidden spots to admire the Aurora Borealis, using their knowledge of weather patterns to maximize your chances of a great sighting.

As we search for the lights, enjoy delicious local pastries and warm hot chocolate under cozy blankets. Our guide will also capture high-quality photographs of you with the Aurora, so you can cherish these magical moments forever.

Please note that the tour is dependent on weather conditions both on Earth and on the sun, and sightings cannot be guaranteed.

FAQ

Are crampons / spikes necessary?

If the conditions are such that it is slippery, it might be a good idea to bring them along. Please do not wear them inside the car.

What should I wear?

Iceland is known for colourful weather. It can sometimes show you all 4 seasons in one day.

Dressing for this sort of weather can be a challenge so we always recommend dressing in layers. 3 or 4 upper layers are highly recommended such as a light t-shirt (preferably wool) next to the skin, then a fleece or heavy wool garment, topped off with a waterproof windbreaker.

Jeans are not recommended for our trips as they become very heavy, cold and uncomfortable to wear when they get wet. Lightweight hiking pants, track pants or long cotton pants are best and then wind/waterproof pants over.

Sturdy hiking boots are highly recommended although good sneakers are good enough for this rather comfortable and short hike.

Do I need some insurance before going on this trip?

Travel insurance is always a good idea. We recommend that you have personal health insurance coverage when participating in any adventure activities in Iceland, as you would when travelling anywhere in the world.
