Booking terms and conditions

These terms and conditions may be amended periodically and apply to all services provided by Glaciers and Waterfalls Limited. By booking a tour, using, or browsing through this website (both desktop and mobile), you acknowledge that you have read, agreed to, and understood the following terms and conditions set by Glaciers and Waterfalls Limited.

Glaciers and Waterfalls is a tour operator offering multi-day tours around Iceland. Reservations and bookings for our services can be made on our website glaciers.is or through any other third-party reseller authorized to sell our services. If you encounter any issues, please contact our customer care department at info@glaciers.is. Ensure all required information is provided when booking. Upon completion, you will receive a confirmation email with a booking number. Please bring this confirmation on the day of the tour as proof of payment. You are responsible for providing accurate information to Glaciers and Waterfalls during the booking process, and we cannot be held liable for any mistakes made.

Glaciers and Waterfalls reserves the right to change timetables and/or tour itineraries in the event of adverse weather conditions. We are not responsible for costs or expenses related to flight delays, injuries, weather, war, natural disasters, or other unforeseeable matters beyond our control. By booking, you declare that you are responsible for providing Glaciers and Waterfalls with correct contact details.

1. Rates

Please be aware that all prices for services provided by Glaciers and Waterfalls are quoted in Icelandic Krona (ISK), the company’s local currency. Prices advertised on the Glaciers and Waterfalls website or through approved resellers in currencies other than ISK are subject to exchange rate fluctuations. Therefore, any price not stated in Icelandic Krona should be considered indicative only, with the Icelandic Krona price taking precedence.

As a local operator, Glaciers and Waterfalls cannot be held responsible for currency fluctuations or additional fees beyond its control, such as bank transfer fees or credit card fees.

Glaciers and Waterfalls Limited reserves the right to adjust its rates due to economic changes, including but not limited to currency fluctuations, inflation, increased supply costs, tax changes, and other force majeure events. In the event of VAT or other tax changes, client contract prices will be adjusted accordingly. Price changes resulting from tax adjustments will apply to all reservations, regardless of whether they were confirmed at previous prices or payment has already been made. All rates include VAT and are subject to official tax adjustments.

2. Promotional codes

Promotional codes or special offers cannot be refunded or applied after booking a tour.
If you have a promotional code or special offer, please ensure to enter it into the designated field at the time of booking for it to be applied and validated.
Promotions offered by our resellers that are not featured on our website glaciers.is cannot be used on our website without our approval.

3. Pick-up and drop-off services

Pick-ups and drop-offs are included on all Glaciers and Waterfalls tours.

When booking your tour, you’ll select your preferred pick-up location. Please note that direct hotel pick-ups are not available in Reykjavik; instead, pick-ups are made from designated bus stops in the city center. If you’re unsure about the best bus stop for pick-up, feel free to contact us at info@glaciers.is for assistance ot check out our Pick-up & Drop-off Locations page.

Pick-ups outside of Reykjavik can sometimes be arranged, but please contact us at info@glaciers.is beforehand to make proper arrangements.

If you miss your pick-up, Glaciers and Waterfalls cannot be held responsible, and no refund will be provided. It’s your responsibility to ensure you’re at the correct location at the specified time to meet your guide. However, we will do our best to reschedule you if possible, though this cannot be guaranteed. Please contact Glaciers and Waterfalls if you miss your pick-up.

Additionally, please be aware that the guide may need to make multiple pick-ups at different bus stops before the tour officially begins.

. MEETING US ON LOCATION

If you opt for the ‘meet on location’ option, it’s your responsibility to arrive at the designated meeting point on time and at the right location. No refunds will be provided if you fail to arrive at the designated location at the specified time.

Please be aware that if you fail to arrive on time at the designated meeting point for your tour, you are not entitled to a refund. If you miss the start time of your tour, you are not entitled to a refund. However, we will make an effort to reschedule your tour for another day, subject to availability. It’s your responsibility to contact Glaciers and Waterfalls to request a reschedule if you miss your tour.

5. Travel insurance

We strongly advise all travelers to purchase comprehensive insurance before embarking on their journey.

6. Icelandic weather and conditions

The weather in Iceland, especially during winter, is highly unpredictable, and occasionally, we may need to alter itineraries or routes, or even cancel tours altogether. Unforeseen events such as road closures, high winds, floods, impassable routes, and whiteouts are common occurrences, particularly in winter.

Glaciers and Waterfalls reserves the right to change itineraries and/or routes or to cancel tours if the weather conditions are severe.

If your tour with Glaciers and Waterfalls is canceled due to bad weather, you will receive a full refund. However, if you choose to cancel your tour due to weather concerns, but we are still operating the tour, you will not receive a refund.

We operate our tours as often as safely possible, and our driver guides have years of experience navigating adverse weather conditions.

Please understand that the weather on the glaciers can be significantly worse than on lower lands and may be completely inaccessible or dangerous. Glaciers and Waterfalls closely monitors weather reports and warnings from the national weather authority, and sometimes, our guides must make the call on the spot on whether it is safe to proceed. Please respect your guide’s decision, as it is made with your safety in mind.

7. Clothing

Appropriate footwear and outdoor clothing are essential for your safety and well-being. Glaciers and Waterfalls reserve the right to refuse participation to clients who are dressed inappropriately or with inadequate footwear, as this could jeopardize their safety.

While specific clothing types are not listed here, it’s important to note that Icelandic weather can be changeable and temperate. Therefore, clothing should be suitable for wet, windy, and cold conditions, even in summer. Your guide will assess your preparedness for the tour and have the final say on your participation in activities.

Please be aware that if you are deemed unsuitable for participation due to inadequate clothing or footwear, you will not be eligible for a partial refund.

8. Assumed risk and outdoor activities

ustomers participating in activities and tours operated by Glaciers and Waterfalls do so at their own risk and must adhere to the guidelines and instructions provided by the guide while behaving responsibly.

Outdoor activities inherently carry some level of risk, and Glaciers and Waterfalls does not assume any responsibility for accidents resulting from clients’ actions or factors beyond human control. By purchasing a tour/activity, you agree to these conditions and acknowledge that you are responsible for your own safety.

For certain tours and activities, you may be required to sign an additional liability form to participate.

It’s your responsibility to thoroughly read the tour description detailing the activities involved. If you’re unsure about your ability to participate in any activities, please contact Glaciers and Waterfalls before the tour to address any concerns.

9. Alcohol and drugs

Glaciers and Waterfalls reserve the right to deny participation to clients whom we suspect are under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In such instances, no refund will be provided. Additionally, our guides reserve the right to refuse participation to any client whose behavior or demeanor may cause offense, distress, or endanger other clients or the guide. In such cases, full cancellation charges will apply.

10. Reviews and feedback

Glaciers and Waterfalls values your feedback as it helps us enhance our services and performance. We would greatly appreciate it if you could share your tour experience with us.

11. Liability

We do not assume responsibility for losses or expenses incurred due to flight delays or changes, injuries, damages, negligence, weather conditions, war, or other unforeseeable circumstances (force majeure). The estimated duration of tours listed on our website is standard and may vary depending on road or weather conditions. While punctuality is a priority in Glaciers and Waterfalls operations, delays may occur due to unforeseen reasons. The company cannot be held responsible for any losses passengers may experience as a result of delays, whether direct or indirect.

12. Privacy policy

All personal information will be kept strictly confidential and will not be shared or sold to third parties. While we do offer products or services on our website from trusted partner companies within the Icelandic tourism sector, please note that these third-party sites have their own separate and independent privacy policies. Therefore, we assume no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites.
